Philosophy & about

You are more than a list of symptoms.

Meaningful wellness begins with listening closely, understanding the whole story, and creating a path that honors the person—not just the problem.

Our foundation Scripture

“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.”

— 1 Timothy 4:16 KJV

Why this Scripture guides our work

God first works within us.

At Nourished by Jahmae, we believe that before we can help others, we must first receive God’s help for ourselves. We cannot give away what we do not have.

Paul instructed Timothy to take heed to himself and remain grounded in sound doctrine. By tending to his own life and continuing in truth, Timothy would benefit not only himself but also those who heard him. God first works within us, strengthens us, and fills us so that we can serve others from what He has supplied rather than from emptiness.

God expressed this same principle to Abram: “I will bless thee…and thou shalt be a blessing.” Before Abram could become a blessing to others, he first had to be blessed by God.

Genesis 12:2 KJV

Nourished so we can pour

Caring for ourselves is stewardship.

God has entrusted people and purposes to our lives. As we receive His help and tend to our spiritual, physical, and emotional wellbeing, we become better equipped to pour into those He has placed around us.

These practices are not about perfection or making ourselves the center. They are ways of faithfully stewarding the whole person—spirit, soul, and body—that God has entrusted to us.

01

Time with God

Receive from God through His Word, prayer, worship, and time in His presence.

02

Nutrition

Nourish the body with foods and everyday rhythms that support health and wellbeing.

03

Movement

Move with gratitude and consistency in ways that fit your body and your season.

04

Sleep & rest

Protect restorative sleep and make room for the rest your whole person needs.

05

Stress support

Recognize stress and practice healthy, sustainable ways to respond.

06

Relationships

Cultivate supportive, life-giving relationships and receive help when it is needed.

07

Emotional wellbeing

Make space to tend to your thoughts, emotions, boundaries, and inner life.

08

Environment

Reduce avoidable exposures through practical changes made one step at a time.

09

Appropriate care

Seek qualified healthcare and support when symptoms, concerns, or needs arise.

We allow God to fill and nourish us—not so that we can keep it all for ourselves, but so that we can pour from a full cup into the people and purposes He has placed in our lives.

The whole story matters

The body is interconnected.

At Nourished by Jahmae, I believe every person deserves the opportunity to understand the patterns that may be influencing how they feel. Nutrition, digestion, sleep, stress, movement, environmental exposures, relationships, and spiritual wellbeing do not exist in isolation. They work together to shape our health and daily lives.

My role is not to hand you a perfect plan. It is to listen, help you make sense of the information, and translate evidence-informed wellness principles into practical steps that fit your values, responsibilities, family, and budget.

What guides this work

Understanding first. Sustainable action next.

01

Listen to the whole story

Symptoms, routines, environment, history, values, and lived experiences all deserve thoughtful attention.

02

Look for connections

Nutrition, digestion, sleep, movement, stress, environmental exposures, relationships, and purpose often influence one another.

03

Support without shame

Sustainable change grows through understanding, grace, and practical support—not fear, pressure, or perfection.

Looking beyond the surface

Symptoms deserve thoughtful attention.

Symptoms can provide important information about patterns involving nutrition, digestion, sleep, stress, movement, environmental exposures, medications, and other aspects of a person’s life. Root-cause thinking encourages us to explore those connections and identify practical areas that may support wellbeing.

I do not believe we must choose between conventional and functional approaches. Conventional medicine is essential for screening, diagnosis, acute care, and evidence-based treatment. Functional medicine adds another valuable lens by asking how genetics, nutrition, lifestyle, environment, and interconnected body systems may contribute to health. My vision is to bring these perspectives together thoughtfully and responsibly.

Current scope: Nourished by Jahmae services are educational and coaching-based. They do not include medical diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, or emergency care. Clients should continue working with their licensed healthcare providers.

Jahmae Collins

Why I created Nourished by Jahmae.

After more than 15 years in nursing, I have learned that people want more than instructions—they want to feel heard, understand what may be happening within their bodies, and know why a recommendation matters.

My interests in nutrition, fitness, functional wellness, environmental health, and prevention grew from a desire to look at the whole person. I created Nourished by Jahmae to provide the time, education, and support that help women connect the dots and become active participants in their wellbeing.

I am a registered nurse, Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Certified Transformation Specialist, and trained nutrition coach. I have completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice program and am currently pursuing functional medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine. I am also pursuing graduate education to become an adult-gerontology nurse practitioner.

Faith-informed care

Faith-rooted and always person-centered.

My Christian faith shapes the heart behind this work. I believe every person is created with purpose and that the body has a God-designed capacity for restoration. For clients who welcome it, faith, prayer, Scripture, and spiritual wellbeing may be incorporated into the wellness journey.

Faith-based support is always offered with respect. Every person is welcomed and cared for regardless of their beliefs or where they are in their spiritual journey.
